Need a place to unload confidential documents, old electronics, and gently used professional attire? Then it’s time for a spring cleaning! 

Dating back to the 1800s, the biggest annual housecleaning took place in the spring because the winter left homes coated with layers of soot and grime. Lamps lit with whale oil or kerosene, were heated with coal and wood, so you can imagine the mess left behind. A proper cleaning required opening windows to let the soot out, which could only be done during warmer weather. 

Our take on a proper spring cleaning is unloading confidential documents, recycling electronics, and donating gently used professional attire!  

During Lunch Truck Lineup at Central Green, we'll collect these items for FREE paper shredding by ProShred Philadelphia, FREE electronics recycling by EForce Recycling, and a clothing drive for men's and women's professional attire benefiting Career Wardrobe.

Some recyclable electronics include: Dehumidifiers, Peripherals, Computers, Typewriters, Mice, Telephones, Small Appliances, Microwaves, Fax Machines, Cameras, Keyboards, Cell Phones, Printers, Calculators, and Air Conditioners!

Clothing that can be donated includes:

Professional clothing:

• Matching business suits (skirt or pant) – women’s sizes from 0 to 16+ are in demand!
• Separates: skirts, pants, blazers, blouses, “Casual Friday” outfits
• Maternity wear – all sizes and styles
• Gently worn shoes (all sizes, especially 9 and up)
• Accessories (purses, handbags/briefcases, jewelry)
• New/unused pantyhose (all sizes)
• Coats and formal wear
• New/unused beauty products, toiletries and make-up

Uniform items for men or women entering service or medical fields:

• Scrubs
• White tops/blouses
• Black, navy, and tan/khaki bottoms
• Polo shirts
• Black or white shoes, clogs, or sneakers

• Maternity wear – all sizes and styles
