A group of trade and investment representatives from more than 20 different countries wrapped up a statewide tour across Pennsylvania with a visit to the Navy Yard on March 22.
The statewide tour was done in a partnership with The Philadelphia Department of Commerce and Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development’s Office of International Business Development (OIBD).
The goal of the visit was to help facilitate investment and attract foreign businesses in projects across the region.
During the tour of the Navy Yard, representatives visited with PIDC leadership to learn about the Navy Yard’s history and redevelopment along with information on the Lower Schuylkill Biotech Campus. The group ended their visit at Ensemble/Mosaic’s offices. There they received an in-depth look at future Navy Yard development plans in Ensemble/Mosaic’s state-of-the-art marketing center with an interactive 3-D development model and video screen for an immersive tour of what’s to come.
The Navy Yard Plan
The Navy Yard Plan charts the next 20 years of equitable growth at the Navy Yard. This update reflects the successful development of an expanding community of 150 employers and 15,000 workers and builds upon that success with an ambitious but achievable plan for equitable economic growth and the creation of a community to live, work, make, and play.
With the implementation of the 2022 Plan, the Navy Yard and our development partners at Ensemble/Mosaic will realize a responsive and visionary urban development that supports equitable and inclusive economic growth and emphasizes a resilient and cohesive public realm.
This new plan will bring over 12,000 additional full-time jobs, 8.9 million square feet of space, and $6 billion in diverse and inclusive new investment over 20 years.
