Welcome Orchestra Life Sciences to the Navy Yard! Orchestra is a rapidly growing technical consultancy that supports advanced therapy manufacturing that has relocated its global headquarters from Montreal to Philadelphia. The move marks an important milestone for Orchestra and reinforces the Navy Yard’s leadership as a hub for life sciences innovation, job creation, and workforce development.
A Company Growing to Meet the Moment
Led by Co-Founder and CEO Emilie Pelletier, Orchestra has quickly expanded over the last three years from a four-person startup to a global team of experts. Collectively, the team brings:
- 500+ years of experience in nuclear medicine
- 100+ years of cell and gene therapy expertise
This depth of knowledge allows Orchestra to help organizations move life-saving therapies from concept to commercial manufacturing with confidence, quality, and operational excellence.
“Relocating our headquarters to Philadelphia reflects both our growth as a company and our commitment to being part of this extraordinary ecosystem,” said Pelletier. “The Navy Yard provides not only world-class infrastructure, but also the community and vision to build the workforce needed for the future of advanced therapies.”
Building the Workforce of the Future at the Navy Yard
As part of its relocation, Orchestra will also establish a Workforce Development Center of Excellence at the Navy Yard, slated to launch in 2026.
The Center will offer hands-on training and certification for high-demand roles in:
- Cell and gene therapy manufacturing
- Radiopharmaceutical production
- Quality control and quality assurance
With a nationwide shortage of skilled technicians and operators, this initiative will play a crucial role in preparing the next generation of life sciences talent and will complement the Navy Yard’s growing network of workforce development programs.
A Strong Addition to a Flourishing Ecosystem
The Philadelphia region continues to be a major center for life sciences, adding more than 7,000 jobs and attracting billions of dollars in investment since 2019.
“Having Orchestra join us at the Navy Yard is a major win for the life sciences community,” said Mark Seltzer, Managing Director at Ensemble Investments. “Their workforce initiative will strengthen the existing ecosystem and ensure the region has the talent pipeline to support continued growth.”
“PIDC is proud to welcome Orchestra Life Sciences to the Navy Yard, and we look forward to supporting their expansion, collaboration, and impact on the future of innovation in our growing life-science ecosystem here,” said Kate McNamara, Executive Vice President of the Navy Yard for PIDC.
