This August marks an exciting milestone for transportation on campus.

As the Navy Yard continues to grow, we’re continuing to invest in how our community travels to, from, and throughout campus. Over the coming weeks, we’ll introduce TripShot, a new rider app for the Navy Yard Transit, while also welcoming the arrival of SEPTA Bus Route 45.

Together, these updates expand transportation options, introduce new rider tools, and support a more connected transit experience for employees, residents, visitors, and the broader community.

Introducing TripShot

In late August, TripShot will become the official rider app for the Navy Yard Transit, replacing the Navy Yard Transit app.

The transition to TripShot reflects our continued investment in the campus transit experience and introduces new, highly-rated technology designed to support both riders and the future of the transit program. As the Navy Yard continues to evolve, we’re committed to providing transportation tools that make it easier for riders to access information and navigate the Navy Yard Transit.

At launch, riders can expect features including:

  • Enhanced real-time bus tracking with improved vehicle visibility throughout the route
  • Live bus passenger and bike storage capacity
  • Mobile boarding passes, eliminating the need for a campus ID for eligible riders
  • Personalized alerts and reminders based on real-time bus arrivals
  • Integrated trip planning that includes SEPTA connections
  • Continued service alerts and rider communications throughout the app

In addition to new rider features, the platform will provide enhanced ridership data and reporting capabilities that will help inform future transportation planning and service improvements.

Additional information—including the official launch date, rider resources, and instructions for getting started—will be shared closer to launch.

SEPTA Route 45 Arrives August 23

TripShot launches alongside another exciting transportation milestone for the Navy Yard. Beginning August 23, 2026, SEPTA Bus Route 45 will begin serving the campus as part of SEPTA’s New Bus Network, providing a direct connection between Center City and the Navy Yard seven days a week. The new service offers another convenient transportation option for employees, residents, visitors, and anyone traveling to campus.

Looking Ahead

Together, these transportation updates represent another step in strengthening access and connectivity across campus. The introduction of TripShot and the arrival of SEPTA Route 45 complement one another by expanding transportation options and supporting a more connected campus experience.

As we prepare for the TripShot launch later this month, we’ll continue sharing updates, rider resources, and everything you’ll need to know before the new app becomes available.
