Edited on July 22, 2013 to reflect updated schedule.
The Navy Yard’s Lunch Truck Lineup (#TNYLTL), a weekly event on the Marine Parade Grounds, has been called a “hot venue” and a “food truck hub” by food critics and bloggers. As of July 1, The Navy Yard has expanded the popular food truck program with Food Truck Days @ The Navy Yard, which brings food trucks to the campus five days a week (rain or shine)!
Food Truck Days @ The Navy Yard rotate over 20 unique trucks to three locations on a set weekly schedule. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, you’ll find food trucks in Crescent Park (by the Broad Street gates) and 15th Street and Kitty Hawk Avenue with breakfast, coffee, and lunch options. Thursdays will remain as the expanded Lunch Truck Lineup, with an ever-changing lineup of gourmet food and dessert trucks on the Marine Parade Grounds. For #TNYLTL, the schedule is announced weekly on social media.
Food Truck Days adds to the growing list of amenities for employees working at The Navy Yard and the surrounding neighborhood. The program taps into Philadelphia’s incredibly varied catalogue of lunch trucks, each with its own cuisine, style, and story. Keep a look out for individual profiles of these trucks on The Yard Blog as we delve deep into the people and history of these fantastic mobile eateries.
