The Navy Yard is thrilled to announce the arrival of its first hotel! The Courtyard Philadelphia South at The Navy Yard, a 172-room hotel designed by local architecture firm Erdy McHenry Architecture, features executive suites, meeting/conference/event facilities, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. In keeping with The Navy Yard’s commitment to sustainability, the hotel was designed to achieve LEED certification, and includes a modern design which incorporates a rain screen system comprised of alternating metal panels and glazing. This facade will vary in color and shadow depending upon the time of day and intensity of sunlight.
The $34 million hotel is centrally located at 1001 Intrepid Ave (at the corner of Rouse & Intrepid), overlooking the forthcoming Central Green park. Just inside, guests and visitors can enjoy The Bistro – a restaurant, bar, and coffee shop serving Starbucks. When the weather warms up, the outdoor patio will offer another great place for business meetings, lunches, coffee breaks, and the only place on campus for happy hours!
