THE NAVY YARD IS A PRIVATELY OWNED AND OPERATED CAMPUS THAT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC DAILY FROM SUNRISE TO SUNSET, BUT MAY CHANGE WITH LIMITED NOTICE.
NAVY YARD PARKS & PUBLIC SPACES ARE OPERATED BY PIDC, SUBJECT TO PIDC POLICIES, AND ENFORCED BY PIDC-CONTRACTED SECURITY OFFICERS.
ALTHOUGH THE NAVY YARD CAMPUS IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, ENTERING THE FOLLOWING AREAS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. ANY PERSONS FOUND IN THESE AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO REMOVAL:
– PRIVATE BUILDINGS
– CONSTRUCTION SITES
– AREAS MARKED WITH “DO NOT ENTER” OR “NO TRESPASSING” SIGNAGE

Photography & Drone Guidelines
The Navy Yard permits visitors to take casual photographs and videos for personal use. Personal photographs and videos may not be used for commercial purposes without prior written consent from a representative of the Navy Yard.
Personal photography and videos may be taken at the Navy Yard provided the following guidelines are observed:
- Photography is permitted only in outdoor, public areas of the Navy Yard during open public access hours.
- Photography is not permitted inside buildings without prior consent from building owner(s) or tenant(s).
- Please see the Navy Yard Photography Guidelines Map for areas where photography and videography are restricted. Any persons found taking photos or videos in these areas may be subject to removal from the campus.
- Photography must not interfere with the work or enjoyment of the Navy Yard’s tenants or other visitors.
- Photos must be for personal use only, not for advertising products or services.
- It is not necessary to inform the Navy Yard of your plans in advance.
Commercial filming and photography, including but not limited to wedding, engagement, advertising, and other professional usage requires prior written request and approval from the Navy Yard.
- Requests must be made in writing at least two (2) weeks in advance. The photographer or photography subject must provide a list of names of all individuals in his/her party when making the written request, in addition to the desired date and time of visit.

The general public is NOT permitted to fly drones at the Navy Yard without prior FAA and Navy Yard approval.
Due to the Navy Yard’s proximity to the Philadelphia International Airport and stadiums, the Navy Yard is classified as a Class B airspace. Vendors who wish to fly their UAS/drone (unmanned aircraft system) must receive FAA controlled airspace authorization (FAA Form 7711-1 “Certificate of Waiver or Authorization”) and specific air traffic permission and coordination on the day of flight in order to fly a drone in this restricted airspace. Vendors must also be accompanied by Navy Yard security during flight time, which can be scheduled in advance with PIDC.
Please note that “recreational operations are not permitted in Class B airspace around most major airports without specific air traffic permission and coordination”. As a reminder, please do not attempt to fly a drone at the Navy Yard, it is strictly prohibited without FAA authorization.

The City of Philadelphia requires commercial sUAS (Part 107) drone operators complete a Commercial sUAS (Part 107) Flight Notification Form prior to each flight. This notification alerts the appropriate Philadelphia Public Safety members (PPD, PFD, OEM, FAA etc.) about flight operations. Examples of Commercial sUAS (Part 107) flights include:
- Aerial photography
- Drone Show
- Facility Inspection
- Etc.
