Ready, set, explore! This year, we’re marking 25 years of innovation, transformation, and economic impact at the Navy Yard, and you’re invited to join the celebration with a one-of-a-kind photo scavenger hunt!

From historic ships and waterfront views to dinosaurs, murals, and modern architecture, the Navy Yard is full of hidden gems, surprising stories, and Insta-worthy backdrops just waiting to be discovered. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, this is your chance to see the Yard like never before—with 25 iconic, quirky, and downright fun photo challenges to guide your way.

From the Navy Yard, you can see Philadelphia’s iconic stadium complex, home to the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers. Find a spot where you can see the stadiums and give us a glimpse of these sports landmarks, as seen from the Yard!

Students from Mural Arts Philadelphia’s free after-school program came together to paint a vibrant shipping container mural at the Navy Yard. Find the mural and take a moment to appreciate the artwork and document your favorite detail.

Central Green is an award-winning, five-acre park known for its unique circular design that’s perfect for exploring. Find one of the signature circles in the park and strike a pose inside or outside it.

Did you know the Navy Yard is a Level One Arboretum with over 2,000 trees rooted in its history? Find a tree that speaks to you—tall, twisty, leafy, or lovely—and snap a photo beneath its branches.

Designed by world-renowned architect Bjarke Ingels, 1200 Intrepid is hard to miss with its eye-catching curved facade inspired by the nearby circular park, Central Green. Find this futuristic building and take a photo that highlights its bold curves and creative angles.

Capture the spirit of the Four Chaplains! Snap a powerful photo of the Chapel that symbolizes the mission of the Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation—faith, courage, and cooperation.

Say hello to Alpha Sacred Beings (The Origin of Creation)a life-sized Parasaurolophus dinosaur skeleton that’s been calling the Navy Yard home since 2022! Created by artist Marianela Fuentes, this stunning sculpture symbolizes a bridge between two Indigenous Nations.

A red and white sign bearing the word “Mirage” is the only remaining remnant of the Navy Yard’s temporary public art installation, Greetings From The Mirage, a larger-than-life desert dreamscape that invited visitors to explore an immersive world in 2023. Track down the sign and snap a shot that pays tribute to the public art pop-up.

With over 6 miles of scenic shoreline, the Navy Yard’s waterfront is perfect for peaceful strolls, breezy views, and waterfront wandering. Find your favorite riverside spot and strike a pose with the water in view.

The Lunch Truck Lineup runs seasonally from April to October, bringing Philly’s favorite food trucks to the Navy Yard several times a week! Grab a snack from one of the trucks and grab a picture of your snack in all its yummy goodness.

As Philly’s public-private economic development corporation and the Navy Yard’s lead developer, PIDC has a full-time crew hard at work in Building 101. Snap a pic outside the office and give a little wave to the team leading the Navy Yard’s transformation.

The Navy Yard continues to produce major commercial ships and ship components for the U.S. Navy, while honoring its history with vintage ships that can be seen throughout the Navy Yard. Find the largest ship in the Yard and take a picture below its mighty bow!

From 1861 to 1903, Admiral George W. Melville led groundbreaking advancements in naval engineering. Hunt down his statue in the Navy Yard and capture a photo honoring the legacy of this maritime innovator.

URBN, with its portfolio of brands like Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, Terrain, and more, was one of the first major companies to call the Navy Yard home, moving its HQ here back in 2004. Swing by URBN’s expansive campus and snap a stylish shot.

Stop by Dry Dock Park, a peaceful corner of the Navy Yard nestled beside a decommissioned dry dock that once hosted towering naval ships for repair. Find the edge of the dock and capture a photo of history on display.

The 26th Street Lift Bridge is a towering piece of naval infrastructure that once helped reduce wartime traffic congestion at the Navy Yard. Now an important connector between the Yard and the rest of South Philadelphia, it’s a true landmark. Snap a photo of the bridge from the safety of the sidewalk!

Did you know the Navy Yard is also home of one of Philadelphia’s rich snack food, Tastykake. Sometimes you can even taste the sweetness in the air. Snap a quick pic of their iconic sugar towers.

Did you know M.Night Shyamalan filmed scenes from The Last Airbender  at the Navy Yard? Building 120 doubled as a soundstage for the movie. Can you track down this piece of Hollywood history and grab a shot from outside?

With nine miles of streets and sidewalks, the Navy Yard is a perfect spot for dogs and their humans to stretch their legs. Keep an eye out for a four-legged friend and snap a cheerful photo of a pup enjoying the Yard (with their owners permission, of course)!

OFFICIAL RULES

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
  2. HOW TO ENTER: Beginning on June 24, 2025, at 5:00 P.M. EST through July 24, 2025, at 5:00 P.M. EST, entrants must complete at least one scavenger hunt prompt (“Prompt”) to be entered to win. A Prompt is an original photograph of one scavenger hunt stop that the entrant must post to their Instagram account. Entrants must make their Instagram accounts public, the post of the hunt stop public, and use the designated scavenger hunt hashtag in their post. They must also follow the Navy Yard’s Instagram account @navyyardphila. A completed Prompt consists of 1) an original photograph of one of the hunt stops 2) the photograph posted to Instagram 3) in a public post on a public account 4) and the entrant following the Navy Yard’s Instagram account @navyyardphila. One completed Prompt is one entry. Entrants may complete up to twenty-five Prompts by completing the entire scavenger hunt. Entrants may alternatively enter the scavenger hunt by completing an online form and providing information on the Navy Yard’s website, located here. There is a limit of one online entry per entrant. Multiple entries submitted or completed by any one entrant are void. Entrants may not enter more than once by using multiple email addresses, identities, or devises to circumvent the rules. Entrants who complete Prompts from the scavenger hunt may not also complete the online form.
  3. ELIGIBILITY: Open to residents of the 50 United States, D.C. and any territories of the United States 18 years of age and older as of June 22, 2025, except for employees, members, and directors of the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development (“PAID”), Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (“PIDC”) (PIDC and PAID are collectively the “Sponsor”). Sponsor’s affiliates, subsidiaries, and agents, as well as members of their immediate family or persons living in the same household. Void where prohibited.
  4. DRAWING: A random drawing will be conducted on or about July 25, 2025, by Sponsor to select the winner from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. Entrants who completed Prompts will be notified by Instagram or if an alternative entry by email. Entrants must sign and return to Sponsor any required affidavit of eligibility and release form within 10 of days of the date notice is sent or other date set by Sponsor. Failure to respond within the applicable time period will result in forfeiture of the prize and Sponsor shall have the option to award the prize to an alternate winner. The return of any prize notification or prize as undeliverable may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. By entering this sweepstakes, entrant accepts and agrees to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final in all matters. Acceptance of a prize also constitutes permission to Sponsor to use winner’s name, likeness, biographical information, and Prompt(s) for marketing purposes without further compensation or right of approval, unless prohibited by law. All federal and state laws apply.
  5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering this sweepstakes, entrants waive all right to, and hold the Sponsor harmless from, any claim, liability, loss, damage, or expense (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in connection with participation in this sweepstakes or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize. Sponsor will not be responsible for: late, incomplete, or incorrect entries; an entrant’s failure to receive prize notices due to entrant’s spam, junk e-mail, or security settings on Instagram, or for entrants’ provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information; technical, hardware, or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled, or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in this sweepstakes; by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this sweepstakes; or any typographical, technological, or other error in the publishing of the offer, administration of the sweepstakes, or announcement of the prize. If, in the Sponsor’s opinion, there is such an error, or there is any suspected evidence of tampering with any portion of the sweepstakes, or if technical difficulties (including viruses and bugs) compromise the integrity of the sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify this sweepstakes in a manner it deems appropriate. In the event of termination, winners will be selected from among all eligible entries received as of date of termination. In the event a dispute arises as to the identity of a potentially winning entrant, entries will be declared made by the name on the online entry form.
  6. PRIZE: There is one prize which consists of a one-night stay at the Navy Yard Courtyard Marriott Hotel, a gift card to the Gatehouse Restaurant, and two tickets to the Philadelphia Phillies. The hotel stay is valued at $300, the gift card at $25, and the tickets at $100. The total value of the prize is $425. The prize consists only of these items specifically listed as part of the prize. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted by the winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. If a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner by random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries. Only three (3) alternate drawings will be held, after which the prize will remain unawarded.
  7. CHOICE OF LAW AND FORUM: Entrant agrees that all matters arising out of or relating to this sweepstakes and these Official Rules are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Pennsylvania, without giving effect to any of its conflict of laws provisions thereof. Entrant further agrees that any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or relating to this sweepstakes and these Official Rules shall be brought exclusively in the applicable federal or state courts located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
