The sound of hundreds of feet hitting the pavement permeated throughout the Navy Yard with the return of the much-anticipated Navy Yard 5K on October 11. This is the first Navy Yard 5K in four years since the event had been shutdown due to COVID-19.
Nearly 400 dedicated runners, joggers, walkers, and spectators enjoyed a perfect fall day for a lunchtime fun run through the Yard. The race started and finished at Central Green and brought participants through the corporate center and along the Riverfront Greenway.
All participants were winners in our book, but we’d like to recognize the following Navy Yard 5K trophy winners:
- First Female: Haley Anderson (17:35)
- First Male: Eric Burkhardt (15:57)
- First Non-Binary: Daniel Hagan (19:30)
- Final Finisher: Amaris Wilkins
- Largest Team: U.S. Navy
