This summer, the Indego bike share program expanded into the neighborhood adding stations and bike availability to NRG Station (formally AT&T Station) and the Navy Yard.
Indego’s expansion gives the Navy Yard’s 13,500 employees another option to get to and from the SEPTA Broad Street Line and travel around the 1,200-acre campus.
“We are thrilled to partner with the City and Indego to add three stations at the Navy Yard. Indego at the Navy Yard will complement the existing shuttle bus system, and give employees another fantastic choice to get to work,” said Prema Katari Gupta, PIDC’s Senior Vice President, Navy Yard Management, Planning, and Operations. “We are also very excited for visitors and their families to use Indego to explore the very bikeable Navy Yard on weekends.”
Navy Yard Indego stations are located at Crescent Park (Rouse Boulevard & Crescent Drive), Central Green (12th Street & Normandy Place), and 15th Street & Kitty Hawk Avenue. A convenient way to find the stations and track how many bikes/docks are available at each station is to download the free Indego app.
Over the fall season, we will be offering Bike Safety Classes & Group Rides with the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. Bike Coalition staff will go over the basics of bicycle safety including safe riding tips, how to handle potentially dangerous situations, a rundown of bicycle laws, and other useful information to help you cruise safely around the Navy Yard and the Philadelphia with ease.
