“SEATED LITTLE CLOUD” SYMBOLIZES HARMONY, INVITING VIEWERS TO EMBRACE ITS MEDITATIVE NATURE AND FIND SERENITY IN ITS PRESENCE.
About the Art
From September 5, 2024 through the end of the month, this playful artwork will grace Crescent Park, welcoming visitors with its cheerful presence. The inflatable sculpture towers 35 feet over Crescent Park, while spanning 26 feet wide and 21 feet deep. The installation, free and open to the public, embodies FriendsWithYou’s mission to create art that fosters joy and connection. The Seated Little Cloud symbolizes harmony, inviting viewers to embrace its meditative nature and find serenity in its presence.
FriendsWithYou
FriendsWithYou is the collaborative art project of Los Angeles based artists Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III, working collectively since 2002 to create modern modes of spirituality with the mission of having a positive impact on our world. The signature Little Cloud has been featured in many places such as Covent Garden, London, Shibuya, Japan, Miami, Florida, the Aria, in Las Vegas, the 2018 Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, and right here in Philadelphia at the Pizzeria Beddia.
This marks the seventh annual collaboration between Group X and the Navy Yard, a testament to their shared commitment to bringing accessible and thought provoking art to the community.
