In recent weeks, the Navy Yard has welcomed a steady stream of industry leaders, government officials, and organizations interested in the projects, infrastructure, and investments shaping its future.

The shipyard has also attracted significant attention. New Jersey Senator Andy Kim joined industry representatives and the Philadelphia Inquirer for a tour of Hanwha Philly Shipyard, where planned expansion is expected to generate $5 billion in economic impact and create upwards of 5,000 jobs in the years ahead.
Additional visitors included staff from U.S. Senator John Fetterman’s office, who met with industry leaders to discuss bipartisan federal shipbuilding legislation and its potential to support the continued growth of domestic shipbuilding. The legislation could help strengthen the nation’s maritime industrial base while creating family-sustaining manufacturing careers and generating economic opportunity for working families across Philadelphia, the region, and the Commonwealth.
Representatives from the Philadelphia Energy Authority and Public Utility Commissioners toured the Navy Yard’s peaker plant and battery storage systems, gaining insight into the infrastructure that helps support the campus. The visit also included a stop at Rhoads Industries’ facilities to learn more about its industrial, mechanical, and maritime services.

The campus’s growing profile is drawing international interest as well. Representatives from the Australian Defense Delegation recently visited to learn more about ongoing development activity and opportunities within the Navy Yard.
The growing list of visitors comes at a pivotal moment for the Navy Yard, as development accelerates and major investments take shape across the campus. Whether discussing infrastructure, industrial expansion, or energy resilience, each visit offered a closer look at the projects helping drive the campus’s next chapter.
