Spring has arrived in Philadelphia! The trees and flowers are in bloom, the sunshine is abundant, and birds are chirping outside. There are many great outdoor events to take advantage of at The Navy Yard, both during the day (take a break from work) or on evenings/weekends (to benefit charitable organizations). Here’s a short list; all events can be found on our Events page.

The Navy Yard 5k

The 3rd annual Navy Yard 5k will take place on Wednesday, June 8, rain or shine. The race is open only to employees of The Navy Yard .In addition to the race, the Health + Wellness Expo will take place in Crescent Park. The Expo will feature Navy Yard tenants educating employees on all aspects of workplace health, wellness, nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle. Whether you participate as a runner, volunteer, or as a spectator, we hope to see you there! The event is FREE, but you must pre-register by Friday, June 3rd at

Broad Street Run Information

The 37th annual Blue Cross Broad Street Run will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016. The Broad Street Run starting line is at Broad Street and W. Fisher Avenue and ends 1/4 mile inside the Broad Street Gate at The Navy Yard. It is the largest 10-mile race in the nation and benefits the American Cancer Society through runners’ donations and pledges. Cheer on runners at the finish line in The Navy Yard. Lo Spiedo and Mercer Cafe will be open for dining after the race. 

Spring and Summer Lunch Truck Lineup – in 2 locations!

Warm weather at The Navy Yard also means Lunch Truck Lineup. Now through the fall, we’re welcoming food trucks every Thursday on the Marine Parade Grounds and added a second location and day – Tuesdays in Central Green! Stay tuned to social media for the weekly unveiling of Tuesday’s & Thursday’s truck lineup!

8th Annual Great Beer Expo

The Great Beer Expo returns to The Navy Yard in Philly! Now in its 8th year, the Great Beer Expo will have over 100 styles for attendees to sample. The biggest names in brewing join in on the festivities, as this year’s beer tasting extravaganza will showcase breweries from around the corner, around the country, and around the globe—more than 75 breweries in all!

Great Chefs Event

​The Great Chefs Event began in 2006 by partners Marc Vetri and Jeff Benjamin to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. In 2008, Vetri and Benjamin founded Vetri Community Partnership. Today, the event is a dual fundraiser for the two nonprofits. The event brings dozens of high-profile chefs from across the country and around the world to the unique space of Urban Outfitters, Inc.’s corporate campus in Philadelphia for an evening of fun, food and charity. READ MORE

Taste of 3 Cities: Philadelphia

The Taste of Three Cities Festival gathers the brightest and most inspired street chefs and culinary personalities to highlight the food truck revolution and its positive impact on urban renewal and sustainability. Food trucks from Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia travel to each other’s cities to compete for the coveted Mayors Cup! Philadelphia’s Taste of 3 Cities event will benefit The Food Trust. READ MORE

NXTsports Recess Sports Camp for Kids

NXTsports’ Recess Sports is the first camp hosted at The Navy Yard. Led by the NXT coaching staff, the multi-sport youth education summer camp for co-ed athletes ages four to eight years old incorporates soccer, lacrosse, basketball, field hockey and football.  Recess Sports will be held June 27-30 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with full and half-day packages available. READ MORE
