TripShot FAQ
Beginning August 31, TripShot will be the official rider app for Navy Yard Transit, replacing the Navy Yard Transit App. Riders can use the app to view bus locations in real time, access mobile boarding passes or tickets, receive service alerts, plan trips, and view route schedules.

Employees of companies located in the Navy Yard are eligible for complimentary transit. To access complimentary rides, you must sign up in TripShot using your company-issued work email. Personal emails will not be accepted.
U.S. Navy employees, contractors, residents, patients, and visitors are not eligible for complimentary rides and must purchase a fare.
The following riders must purchase a fare before boarding:
- U.S. Navy employees
- Contractors
- Visitors
- Patients
- Residents
Eligible riders can sign up and log in to TripShot using their company-issued work email.
Once signed in:
- Tap the Boarding tab
- Select your route and tap Board
- Your boarding pass will appear and turn green when active
Show the green boarding pass to the driver before boarding. Important: Bluetooth must be enabled for the boarding pass to activate.
If Bluetooth is not enabled, you can still board by:
- Opening the Boarding screen in the app
- Scanning a QR code located onboard the bus
Riders who are not eligible for complimentary transit must purchase a ticket before boarding. Tickets can be purchased:
- In the TripShot app (no login required)
- By scanning a QR code onboard the bus
- Through the direct ticketing link
TripShot will direct you to the ticketing platform to complete your purchase.
No. Navy Yard IDs are no longer accepted as a boarding pass. Riders must either present a valid mobile boarding pass (if eligible) or a purchased ticket.
TripShot allows riders to:
- Plan trips with integrated SEPTA connections
- Track buses in real time
- See available passenger and bike capacity
- Access a mobile boarding pass (if eligible)
- Purchase tickets (if required)
- Receive service alerts and notifications
- View route schedules
If you do not have a company-issued work email from a business located in the Navy Yard, or you are a U.S. Navy employee or contractor, you will need to purchase a fare.
