The Navy Yard’s Plan is being updated to incorporate development that’s occurred to date, integrate and refine future development plans, and chart an innovative course for public realm, transportation, infrastructure, and sustainability in the Navy Yard’s next stage of growth.

As Philadelphians, we know that when we ask our neighbors to describe the Navy Yard in one word, they might provide the following: “corporate, historic, wild, innovative, industrial, expansive, intimate, urban, suburban, eventful, or hidden gem.”  It is amazing that this range of diverse terms could be used to define a single place.  On the one hand, this is evidence of the rich history and layered meanings associated with the Navy Yard, but on the other, this is evidence of a place that is still growing and changing.

The James Corner Field Operations team, in close collaboration with PIDC, Ensemble/Mosaic, and Navy Yard stakeholders will collaborate on a vision-led plan that is inspired and informed by analysis and priorities identified during an iterative engagement process.  As part of this process, the team is enaging with the public. To date we have received over 300 responses, and your responses will help shape the outcome of this plan. Check back here for more information as the plan evolves.
