A new chapter for Navy Yard Transit is almost here.
On August 31, 2026, TripShot will officially become the rider app for Navy Yard Transit, replacing the current Navy Yard Transit app. The transition introduces new tools for riders, including real-time bus tracking, mobile boarding passes, passenger and bike capacity information, service alerts, trip planning with SEPTA connections, and route schedules.
Whether you ride Navy Yard Transit every day or are visiting campus for the first time, there are a few things to know before you board.
First, Know Which Type of Rider You Are
How you access Navy Yard Transit will depend on your rider type.

Employees of companies located in the Navy Yard — excluding U.S. Navy employees and contractors — receive complimentary access to Navy Yard Transit through their company-issued work email. These riders will use TripShot to access their mobile boarding pass.

U.S. Navy employees, contractors, visitors, patients, and residents must purchase a fare before boarding. These riders can purchase a ticket through TripShot, by scanning a QR code posted at transit stops or onboard the bus, or through the direct ticketing link.
On-Site Support During Launch
To help ensure a smooth transition, staff will be available on-site to assist riders in the first weeks of launch.
If You Receive Complimentary Transit
Download TripShot (Apple & Android) and search for Navy Yard, then select Philadelphia Navy Yard. Sign up using your company-issued work email and follow the verification instructions sent to your inbox.
Once your account is set up, your mobile boarding pass will be available through the Boarding tab in the app. When you’re ready to ride, select your nearby route, tap Board, and confirm. Your digital boarding pass will appear for you to show the driver (make sure your Bluetooth is enabled).
If You Need to Purchase a Fare
You can download TripShot (Apple & Android) and select Continue without login to access ticket purchasing. From there, select Purchase Ticket to be directed to the ticketing platform.
Prefer not to download the app? You can also scan the QR code posted onboard the bus or use the direct ticketing link to purchase your fare.
In either case, have your valid QR code ready to show the driver before boarding.
