PIDC, Philadelphia’s economic development corporation, continues to invest in making the Navy Yard a thriving business campus, innovation hub, and community space. Take a look at some of the biggest developments and events at the Navy Year this year!

Raising Funds1. The Navy Yard received two Federal grants for major infrastructure upgrades.

PIDC Receives $1.6 Million for Lift Bridge Repairs

PIDC (on behalf of Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development) has been awarded $1.6 million through the Community Project Funding program to upgrade the 26th Street Lift Bridge.

PIDC receives $1.8 million for new Navy Yard substation

Our vision of a resilient, sustainable Navy Yard just received a major boost. PIDC (on behalf of Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development) has been awarded $1.8 million through the Defense Community Infrastructure Program (DCIP). The grant will support the full replacement of electric Substation 646 (SS646), located in the Philadelphia Navy Yard’s industrial core.

The Navy Yard was honored in the “Great Transformations” category for its successful planning efforts that build healthy and vibrant communities throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and promote APA-PA’ mission and vision.
